Major programmes
Theme Sessions
Senior Indian ministers and top ranking officials from India and abroad will participate
in the Theme Sessions. These sessions are open to all delegates.
Plenary Sessions
Addressed by leaders of the Global hydrocarbon industry, these sessions promises
to be informative and would give an insight into the wide-ranging issues within
the Hydrocarbon Industry. Open to all delegates.
Special Ministerial Session
Petroleum and Energy Minister from select countries will debate on policy issues
related to inter-country cooperation during these sessions. Participation is by
invitation only.
Technical Sessions
There are 25 technical sessions spread over three days being held simultaneously in five different halls at Vigyan Bhavan.
Special Interactive Group Meetings
High-level government officials, policy makers, CEOs, heads of delegations and key
decision makers will deliberate on policies and strategies for international cooperation,
technological developments and joint ventures in energy-related areas.
Special Address Sessions
Special addresses will delivered by eminent personalities of international repute on topics of global significance at Vigyan Bhavan.
Poster Sessions
Poster sessions will be held where about hundred posters will be on display each
day.
Other programmes
Pre-Conferences
Three parallel pre-conferences will be held at Vigyan Bhavan on 11th
January, 2009 wherein subject experts from reputed organizations like PriceWaterhouseCoopers,
Honeywell, etc. will address the participants on `Clean Development Mechanism’,
` Futuristic Automation in Oil & Gas and Participation is by invitation only.
Buyer-Seller-EPC Contractors meet
There are 9 different sessions which will be held in the exhibition halls creating
a platform for the buyers/sellers-EPC contractors to meet and share their ideas.
It will facilitate an opportunity to network for better cooperation for business
across their own borders.
PETROTECH Golf
PETROTECH Golf is an exclusive tournament for the participants of PETROTECH-2009
and a popular feature of the event. The golf event will be organised on 11th January,
2009, at the prestigious Qutub Golf Club, a picturesque golf course adjacent to
the historic monument of Qutub Minar, New Delhi.
Industry – Academia Interface
The interface builds bridges between the teaching fraternity and students from the
petroleum institutes with vibrant discussion on various facets of the Oil & Gas
Industry. Dr. (Ms.) Indira Samarasekera, President, University of Alberta, Canada
will inaugurate the interface.
Parallel Track Event
In association with Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (BPCL) and Federation of Indian
Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), a Parallel Track Event titled, `Indian Retail
Revolution-Challenges and Solutions in Fuel Retailing’, will be held on 13th -14th
January, 2009 at FICCI Auditorium. Participation is by invitation only.
Photo Contest & Exhibition
A photo contest and exhibition is being organized on the theme, ` Bringing Energy
to Life’, to project a visual treat of the Hydrocarbon industry wherein creative
images sent by participants will be display.
Post-Conference Tours
Post –Conference tours to places of historical interest in and around Delhi will
be organized on chargeable basis. Attractive packages are also being planned for
accompanying spouses.

Evening Talks
Special evening talks have been organized with high-profile participation at Hotel
Le-Meridian, New Delhi on 13th January, 2009. The topics are, ` Project
execution scenario-cost plus reimbursable contracts’ and ` Deep water technology
& policies- impacts, economics and technical risks’. Participation is by invitation
only.
Petrotech Quiz
With Petrotech Quiz you can take home very attractive prizes. Participation is through
user-friendly touch-screen kiosks placed at prominent locations. The contest will
be open from the afternoon of 12th January, 2009 to 14th January,
2009.
CEO's Conclave
The CEOs Conclave being held on the evening of 13th January, 2009 which
will bring together CEOs of major Indian corporates from sectors like power, petrochemicals,
steel, information technology, heavy engineering, construction, services, retailing,
etc. who may be directly or indirectly be associated with the hydrocarbon sector.
The august gathering will deliberate on a topic that would have a bearing on shaping
the destiny of the nation.
